TAHITI in COOK'S LOG

Very happy with my article published in july's edition of Cook's Log, the magazine for the members of Captain Cook Society. In it I describe my trip to TAHITI, in which I followed captain James Cook's steps to commemorate the 250 years of his observation of the Transit of Venus, an astronomical event which allowed scientists to accurately calculate the distance between the Sun and our planet.
He later traveled with Tupaia, a native with great navigational skills that showed captain Cook the way to some of the islands of the Pacific. No wonder the latest airplane of Air Tahiti Nui is called Tupaia.
